BULK WINE

In the 1940s, our grandfather, Nicola Martino, began selling wine grapes and juice to many Italians in Collinwood on the east side of Cleveland. My interest in wine began with my grandfather at his business, called Martino’s.

I continued over the years to service the Cleveland area with wine grapes and juice, which gradually expanded to all areas of Ohio.    I was one of the first suppliers to bring grapes from the best AVAs in Northern California, such as the Sierra Foothills, Napa, and Sonoma. In the 1970’s, we were also the first to bring fresh pressed juices to Ohio.   In the following years, our customer base expanded exponentially, including wineries from Minneapolis to New York and Texas. 

 

Due to our commitment to quality and selection of the best AVAs in the country, we have grown to supply some of the largest and best wineries in the Midwest and East Coast.   

 

Our commitment has been strengthened with the addition of my son, Shawn, our fourth generation embracing the wine industry. 

Our dedication to wine and grapes has now taken the next step by adding a winery in Valley View, OH. As one of the original suppliers to bring grapes from California, Washington State, and Oregon, we have been able to selectively pursue the best vineyards from the best AVA’s. With a warehouse in Lodi, CA, and another in Outlook, WA, we can ensure quality through vertical integration from grape to wine.  

Also, we have pioneered the option for wineries in the Midwest to contract acreage so they can determine viticulture practices suit their requirements. Along with the need to deliver grapes in pristine condition, we have developed our system to pre-cool grapes before shipment in specialized containers, allowing us to bring fruit of the best quality that looks and tastes fresh.
